Thai Program
School Profile
The Thai Language School of Melbourne Inc. is a non profit organisation providing Thai language and culture classes for the Australian-Thai community in Melbourne.
The school was established in April 2001 by Mr & Mrs. Somsanith Mangala and Thai Women's community of Melbourne at Wat Dhammarangsee, Thai Buddhist temple, Forest Hill.
Many parents saw a need for their children
to have some formal knowledge of
the Thai culture and language, and have
actively encouraged the establishment and
ongoing continuance of the school.
Previously no formal Thai language program
was available in the community specifically
for school aged children.
We operated the school using volunteer
teachers and staff for four school terms.
Soon outgrowing the limited facilities at
the temple, together with the obvious traffic hazard problems and lack of playground
and student safety concerns, it became
essential to move the school to the purpose
built facility at Blackburn English Language
School in East Burwood.
From January 2012 our new home is at the Westall Secondary College , 88 Rosebank Avenue, Clayton South
