VCE Research Project

The school received grants from the Royal Thai Embassy and ATI (Australia-Thailand Institute) to do a research project in 2010 concerning the feasibility to open VCE (Victorian certificate of Education) Thai and also to develop the curriculum for VCE Thai. This project will run for one year.

Students Exchange Program

In August 2009, the school signed contracts or MOU (Memorandums of Understanding) with the following universities in Thailand: Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmitre campus in Bangkok, Burapha University in Chonburi and Khon Kaen University in Khon Kaen. Under these contracts the school has exchange programs as follows:
 
The brief outline of contracts named “Academic Collaboration for Exchange students” with the universities in Thailand:

1. Adult students of the school can choose any universities that we signed contracts with to study a short course in Thai and Thai culture during a trip or holiday in Thailand. The university will provide a short course (up from 1 week) and also the accommodation if required. The fee will depend on the universities.

2. The child students of the school can go to learn Thai and Thai culture during the school holiday and also the summer holiday. The university will provide a Thai and Thai culture course & excursion at demonstration School of each university and also home-stay that ensures a safe environment for the children. The fee will depend on each of the universities.

(*) Any parents who are interested to send your children for summer holiday under this program please contact to the Principal for more details. The cost will be the responsibility of individuals, parents and departments of each side, not the responsibility of the school or universities.

3. The universities will send staff to help the school to train the teachers and also to help for the curriculum.

5. In the future, adult students who are interested in teaching English in Thailand can use this contract to go to teach English at the universities. Also, they can teach English at the school and TAFE institutions in Thailand under the contract with the Department of Education in Thailand.

Activity News



1. The school has new Committee Members since the AGM (18th October 2009).

2. Ian Lange, The school Vice President attended the launch of TIWA (Thai Information and Welfare Association) at Multicultural Hub on 4th December 2009.

3. The school received two grant projects from VMC (Victorian Multicultural Commission) and one grant project from ATI (Australia-Thai Institution) for use in 2010.

4. Brendan Hooker, adult student level 1, is an exchange student to go to study a short course at Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmiter Campus during January 2010.

5. The school will arrange the seminar to develop curriculum on 17th April 2010.

6. The school will perform Thai classical dances at Songkran Festival at Federation Square on 21st March 2010.

7. Teachers from the school will volunteer to show Thai dancing at an Aged Care Facility in Springvale South on 5th August 2010.
